New Music and Aesthetics in the 21st Century

edited by Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf, Frank Cox, and Wolfram Schurig

The book series New Music and Aesthetics in the 21st Century, which began publication in 2002 and releases a volume every one to two years, is the only series in the world that presents contemporary music, through a mixture of analysis, theory, praxis, reflexion. and programmatic statements,  primarily from the point of view of the main figures on the scene, above all the composers. This series is unique, because younger composers are enabled to articulate, independent of the pressures of academia and public festivals therefore with freedom-central perspectives of musical thought of the 21st century.  This book series, which is read and consulted throughout the world, is indispensable for the understanding of present-day composition, and will later achieve recognition in view of its documentation of the current time period. The series is equally useful for composers, performers, musicologists, cultural historians, philosophers, music managers, and music lovers.
