Monheim Papers II
A collaboration between Wolke Verlag and the Monheim Triennale
The Monheim Papers II offers an in-depth and richly textured glimpse into the artistic cosmos of the Monheim Triennale 2025. This thoughtfully curated collection gathers long-form interviews, essays, and portraits of the sixteen international artists shaping this year’s festival—ranging from experimental jazz and sound art to political performance and post-genre composition.
Contributors include leading music journalists such as Vivian Host, Kristoffer Cornils, Arno Raffeiner, and Steffen Greiner, engaging with figures like Oren Ambarchi, Shannon Barnett, Heiner Goebbels, Shahzad Ismaily, and Terre Thaemlitz. The result is a mosaic of voices that reflect the personal, social, and aesthetic dimensions of contemporary sonic practice.
Designed by Christian Schäfer and accompanied by the photography of Niclas Weber, this publication is both a lasting document of one of Europe’s most progressive music festivals and an inspiring read for anyone interested in the artistic possibilities of sound today.
The Monheim Papers is an ongoing publishing project, with future volumes to follow in close collaboration between the festival and Wolke Verlag.
