Intervall und Zeit

Interval and Time is a modified new edition of Bernd Alois Zimmermann's writings, expanded to include photos and comments. The original edition was published under the same name in 1974 and has long been out of print. The collection contains the composer's most frequently cited texts from his extensive writings: self-reflections, thoughts on his own work and its references in older music, explanations of his much-discussed philosophy of time, reflections on film, ballet, jazz, and a utopia of Gesamtkunstwerk beyond soldiers, as well as newspaper articles and letters, hearty polemics, and an extensive radio play about the agelessness of a cross-epochal "Ars nova."
