Das Rauschen

Noise is a phenomenon that is difficult to grasp. Today it almost seems as if it has crept over from a specialized discipline of physics, acoustics, into new music, where it has obviously become firmly established. However, it is constantly encountered at the same time in the most diverse places, namely still in acoustics and communications engineering, as well as in information theory, media studies and philosophy. And in any case, this subject unites many of the similarities that have always linked music with the natural sciences and mathematics.
