Elsa Cavelti

Eine leidenschaftliche Sängerkarriere

Elsa Cavelti began her career as an alto with a wonderfully sonorous depth; she left the stage in the 1970s as a dramatic soprano with verve. In between lay a passionate singing career that took her to the great stages from Vienna to Milan and Munich. She was a sought-after singing teacher at the Frankfurt am Main Academy of Music.

The book, published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name in the Basel University Library, traces Cavelti's work in a gripping way and also gives a voice to famous singers and Cavelti students such as Ortrun Wenkel and Ruth Ziesak.
