Jazz und Sprache – Sprache und Jazz

Jazz and language, language and jazz": The 5th Darmstadt Jazz Forum in October 1997 was about the influence of jazz on literature, about the influence of literature and literary aesthetics on the understanding of jazz, about poetry and jazz projects in the USA and in Europe, about the realization of linguistic-literary models on a small and large scale, about the linguistic nature or linguistic similarity of jazz improvisation, about references between talking about music (i.e.: jazz criticism) and the music itself. In addition to musicologists, literary scholars, sociologists and journalists, musicians - and in this case, of course, writers - also had their say.
