Monheim Papers II

Monheim Triennale

A cooperation between Wolke Verlag and the Monheim Triennale

The Monheim Papers II provides a multi-layered and in-depth insight into the artistic universe of the Monheim Triennale 2025. The carefully curated volume brings together in-depth interviews, essays and portraits of the sixteen international artists shaping this year's festival - from experimental jazz and sound art to political performance and post-genre-free composition.

The contributors include renowned music journalists such as Vivian Host, Kristoffer Cornils, Arno Raffeiner and Thomas Venker as well as authors such as Lars Fleischmann, Julian Brimmers, Alex Mayor, Annett Scheffel, Yuko Asanuma, Nikta Vahid-Moghtada, Aida Baghernejad, Ariana Zustra and Steffen Greiner. They deal with personalities such as Oren Ambarchi, Shannon Barnett, Heiner Goebbels, Shahzad Ismaily and Terre Thaemlitz. The result is a mosaic of voices that reflects the personal, social and aesthetic dimensions of contemporary sound art.

Designed by Christian Schäfer and accompanied by photographs by Niclas Weber, this publication is both a lasting document of one of Europe's most progressive music festivals - and an inspiring read for anyone interested in the artistic possibilities of sound today.

The Monheim Papers is an ongoing publication project in close collaboration between the festival and Wolke Verlag. Further editions are planned.
