Peter Ruzicka. Eine Werkmonographie

Peter Ruzicka has many talents—academic, linguistic, managerial, and creative. At the heart of it all is his creative passion: composing. This monograph focuses on his musical works. It attempts to trace the artist's path from his "discovery of language" and early successes to the present day in 2013. Ruzicka's work itself determined the structure of the book. The presentation follows neither chronology nor a systematic classification of genres. The two major works, the operas CELAN and HÖLDERLIN, form the focal points of an ellipse, within whose field of tension the topography of Ruzicka's composing is exemplarily traversed. Biographical aspects are included where they necessarily intersect with the music.
