Hanns Eisler on his hundredth birthday. The volume accompanied the Eisler exhibition "'s müßt dem Himmel Höllenangst werden". The book primarily documents the period after Eisler's return from exile in 1948, presenting previously unknown material from the process of creating "Johann Faustus".
