Walter Fähndrich, born in Zug (Switzerland) in 1944. Studied music, specializing in composition and viola. Performs as a viola player with his own compositions (VIOLA) and improvised chamber music. Composes and produces electroacoustic music. MUSIK FÜR RÄUME (musical projects and installations in indoor and outdoor spaces). 1985–2010: Teacher of improvisation/live composition at the Basel Academy of Music. Established and directed the master's program in improvised chamber music there.
