Wechselwirkungen

Neue Musik und Film

The thematic spectrum covered by the eight contributions in the book is broad: it ranges from the liaison between old silent films and music (Manuel Gervink) to unusual forms of interaction between film and electroacoustic music (Oliver Wiener) to connections beyond the classic category of "film music" (Stefan Drees) and music videos (Henry Keazor). It also includes a report on the experiences of a film music composer (Georg Katzer) and contributions with a high proportion of fundamental considerations (Cornelius Schwehr, Martin Zenck, Jörn Peter Hiekel). It goes without saying that a slim volume such as this could not possibly cover the entire field of possible interactions. It seemed sensible to place certain emphases, especially beyond some areas of the topic that have already been explored in considerable depth.
