ZUSCHREIBUNG - this book is the second monograph on the works of composer Peter Ruzicka. The first - NACHZEICHNUNG - was published twelve years ago. Much has changed since then - politically, socially, culturally, but also in the personal life of an artist like Peter Ruzicka, who never thought, acted or wrote within narrow horizons. Between 2013 and 2022, an enormous creative surge resulted in a corpus of compositions that make up a good fifth of Ruzicka's entire oeuvre, with BENJAMIN, his third opera, at its center. The contours of a late work are becoming apparent; by looking back at his own oeuvre and history, the composer developed a new expressivity. More can be said about his musical language and the contexts of its development than twelve years ago. The first version of the monograph therefore not only had to be significantly expanded, but also reassessed and reevaluated from a new perspective. The new title expresses this.
