The idea behind this edition was to present composers, conductors, instrumental soloists and singers with standardized questions on specific topics. The authors have refrained from commenting or summarizing, as the reader's interest should result from a direct comparison of the answers. The book shows a variety of views that today's art and a changing art business make possible and sometimes allows contrasting views to appear side by side. All in all, the result is a readable, instructive and enjoyable 'compendium' of contemporary music.
