Adorno and Erich Doflein regarding the positioning of music education in the 1950s, the “musicological infiltration” pursued by Rudolph Stephan in the 1960s, and the defensive struggles against the demands for politicization by the 1968 generation, all the way to the pluralistic coexistence and mutual enrichment of avant-garde, jazz, and freely improvised music.
