Zur Position der Musikhörenden

The spectrum of contemporary concert formats ranges from performances for a single listener to participatory forms such as sing-along concerts with hundreds of participants. Do you lie in the dark on grass loungers or sit in the concert hall studying the program booklet? Do you go to the bar for a drink at a classical music club or eat your lunch during an intermission at a lunch concert? Do you experience the performance in the concert hall or follow the live broadcast in your living room? These diverse concert situations in Berlin at the beginning of the 21st century are analyzed in terms of the design of the listening situation. This allows us to highlight different concepts of aesthetic experience and ways of listening to music.
